"BEST BOOK" rating!
This is a book I’ll be recommending to everyone I know.
…Yesterday’s Promise is a reunion love story, my favorite kind. Lovely readable style that captures you within the first few pages. I must comment on the flashback sequences. Most authors love to include these kinds of scenes and more often than not, they are unnecessary and slow down the flow of the story. The flashback scenes in this book were done with such poignancy and beauty that I couldn’t imagine the story without them. Very well done.
This is the kind of book to curl up with and continue reading all afternoon. I absolutely loved it. The characters, the writing—all beautifully done. Such an emotional tale tenderly told. Tell your friends, tell your family. They will want to read this book.

Ms. Delia Latham has, once again, fascinated me with her writing ability. I read this book previously—this updated version is fabulous. I love the way Latham takes her characters and develops them into multi-faceted people that capture the readers’ attention. The manner in which she presents her main couple is amazing. Her imagination and her storytelling skills are truly touched by God.
The plot of this book was so unbelievable that it actually could have happened. I found it impossible to put the book down. Her secondary cast of characters were no less expanded. This book, once again, has proven that Latham has the ability to write a top-seller and create interest without compromising her principles. She was able to tell this story without explicit sexual content but still maintain reality.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. If you’ve never read Delia Latham’s work, this would be an excellent place to start. You will definitely not be disappointed.

The repartee and dance between (Brock and Hannah) is engaging and endearing! Hannah struggles to allow her Christian faith to govern her actions rather than be controlled by her anger and resentment. Can she get past her hurt and open her heart to learn the truth and give healing forgiveness? Can Brock allow himself to heal from his injuries and discover the past he has lost?

The story moves along quickly as you wait to see how God will work things out for these two characters. Hannah’s steadfast faith, even laced with some natural doubt and human struggles, is wonderful to read. The romance that is revealed is warm and beautiful. This is just a superb story and I have added Ms. Latham to my “must read” author list!

I found this to be a truly delightful read. Hannah was a person I could easily relate to, wanting to walk with the Lord, but unsure of where He was leading. The young woman questions whether it is the Lord, or simply her own heart doing the leading. I think that is something a lot of us young woman go through. I know I have. Hannah's son, David, was endearing. At three years old, he seems to be able to charm anyone. Brock seems much more elusive to me. Ms. Latham's story totally drew me in. I think I read the whole book in three or four days. And I loved every minute of that book.

The way Latham tells the story reminds me of the gothic novels I loved as a teen, by authors such as Mary Stewart and Victoria Holt. The difference is that Yesterday’s Promise is a much simpler story. It doesn’t have a second love interest to distract Hannah or a secondary plot to complicate the story. Nor does it have any deep themes. It’s a simple love story with an intriguing premise.
I enjoyed reading it and liked the characters. The descriptions of Yosemite National Park grounded the story in a real setting. ...The book isn’t very long and definitely worth devoting an afternoon to read it.

I especially appreciated the book's treatment of one idea — the situation of Hannah's position as a single mother. At one point, Hannah refers to her "fall from grace," to which her friend Lori responds, “Darlin’, you did not fall from grace, you fell into it. Now, I’m no rocket scientist, but as near as I can figure it, that’s what His grace is there for. So how ’bout you just stop beatin’ yourself up already?” That, I think, is the right way of looking at human failings in the light of God's perfection.
While Yesterday's Promise is not exactly in the niche of writing that I most prefer, I did enjoy the novel and appreciate its take on a topic that can be a troubling point for many who were raised in an environment like that in which Hannah grew up. Any book that celebrates grace can't be all bad — and that's just one of the things this book has going for it.

Yesterday's Promise captured my heart from page one and took me through so many emotions...I laughed one minute, cried the next, rejoiced, worried...I found myself staying up much later than I should have to find out how this whirlwind romance would end. Would Hanna's shattered heart stay shattered for good? And what about her adorable little boy toting the much too big ball cap and chubby-cheeked giggles?
This book challenges pre-conceived ideas and misconceptions of single-parenthood and reminds us all that first impressions can be deceiving. And hurtful. Hannah Johns, a Christian woman who finds herself raising a toddler alone, has an impenetrable faith that draws others to her and to her God. I admired her purity, gentleness and open-hearted love, but when Brock Ellis, the man who left her crying in a hotel room the day after their wedding, waltzes back in her life and stabs that knife further into her already wounded heart, I found myself seeking vindication. Suddenly, I didn't want Hannah to be the nice, gentle, forgiving Hannah anymore. I wanted her to walk away and harden her heart. But at a time when I would have been wallowing in self-pity, Hannah drew closer to God and trusted in His plan. And ultimately, it was her faith and total surrender to the will of God that brought about her ultimate healing.

I was won by the struggles Brock confronts both in his memory loss, and an embattled relationship with God. I also found Hannah to be a most admirable heroine – fully devoted to her son and her and the manner in which Hannah asserts herself as a heroine of the first order – using smart logic, her head and her heart, to help Brock , and herself, move past pain, and into a life-long love as well as a renewal of faith.
Five stars, Delia – very well done!

The theme of redeeming the past, and providing healing for trauma was strong in this book, and I always appreciate it when Inspirational authors take the opportunity to tell stories where not only the message and the characters are Christian, but the theme is something theologically relevant to people both inside and outside the Christian faith, so I definitely appreciated that Delia Latham took the opportunity to develop that theme in her book.
All in all, this was an interesting read. I would say, if you like contemporary inspirational romance, if you like musical heroines, and if you like to read stories about redeeming the past, you should pick up this book!

...This book aches with grief, loss, hope and love. The writer in me tried to figure out the premise in whole right off the bat, and it wasn't possible. That's a great thing. Chapter by chapter more of Brock and Hannah's story is revealed and it's full of drama, redemption and reclaiming dreams.

Delia Latham's description of Kip drew me into the story. He reminds me of my grandpa (born in 1883) who was a very straight forward and wise man. The heroine, Hannah, deals with the disappointing loss of her dream. How many women have dealt with that? Um, all of us? I am enjoying watching Hannah's choices as she regroups and makes new choices. I think Delia Latham has written a book that has a little of every woman in it and a bit of the wonder of a past love.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It kept me captivated and intrigued the entire time. It was very real and the secondary characters were intriguing as well without making you lose focus on the main characters. I’d love to see a sequel or two sharing their stories as well. Ms. Latham tells her story in a charming and creative way. Her devout faith shines through in her writing and I was impressed by that. God’s amazing power and healing touch shines through in this book. I highly recommend it. Congratulations, Delia. Well done!

This author has a wonderful touch with words. She made me feel like I was right there with Hannah and Brock as they first fell in love. The honest outpouring from Brock as he describes his slide away from faith rings so true. The journey they travel to regain their lost love is heartbreaking and inspiring as they both struggle with the truth as they know it. Faith, hope and love shine through it all. She brought tears to my eyes when it seemed all hope was lost, and tears of joy follow when love finally wins.
Wonderful book! I highly recommend it!

A Four Rose Read!... I give this book 5 Stars. One of the best writers of our time; Delia Latham has an intelligent way with words, it's as if each word in the story has its own color, and as you read it, a brilliant picture is being painted on a blank canvas, leaving a masterpiece in the mind long after you're finished. This is a must read, don’t miss out, this book has so much heart and soul it lives in itself. Wonderful read!
GOLDENEYES, by Delia Latham is filled with brilliant and shocking surprises wonderfully placed throughout the story but appropriately left for the ending of most chapters. Miss Latham creates the characters in such a way that all of them no matter good or bad become likeable by the ending of the story. The best part of reading GOLDENEYES was just when you think the ending of the story is predictable, Miss Latham shocks you and tempts you to read further . This book is definitely a page turner and a very easy and compelling read.

A poignant story that really pulled at my maternal heartstrings. I could feel the anguish of each mother as they lived in their own private torment. I agonized with them as it appeared the situation could never resolve. There were moments of total hopelessness. However, the good news is that God was working and bringing resolution beyond all I could imagine or dream. This story is very inspirational without becoming preachy or lecturing.

A riveting story, characters that come to life and several unexpected plot twists kept me glued to this book until I turned the last page. A snoring drunk greets the local newspaper editor on the office doorstep one morning with a unique request. He is dead broke but wants to try and find the daughter he sold for the sake of a drink a few days earlier. He is asking the editor to run an ad for him in an attempt to locate the infant girl. Will the baby be reunited with her grieving mother and will the errant father be able to resolve the dilemma his impulsive choice has left him embroiled in?
This touching story of family ties, faith and consequences along with the journeys of many lives touching one another in ways they don’t know is a must read.
