Delia Latham

Inspirational Romance Author

Psalm 98:1 - He has done marvelous things!

Oh, there you are - I've been waiting for you! Now that you're here, make yourself comfortable, and let's get acquainted. A born-and-bred California gal, I grew up in a little community called (hold onto your hat, now) Weedpatch! Nope, that's not a typo. It's a few miles southeast of Bakersfield, and in the ... well, I won't say how many years since I left there ... Weedpatch has even found its way onto a map or two.

Writing has been my passion since third grade, when I won an essay writing contest and took home the coveted prize: a beautiful bed doll with a pink quilted satin skirt. Remember them? Huge, padded skirts, some (like mine) with flat cardboard bottoms to accommodate display. The doll's feet were hidden away somewhere in the overstuffed skirt, never again to see the light of day.  These fancy ladies were most often used as centerpieces for beds, and that's where mine went - smack in the middle of my unimposing bed in my unmatched, Salvation Army-furnished bedroom. It was the most elegant item I had ever owned, and I was one proud little lassie.  (Ahem ... surely someone  else remembers those dollies?)

Winning that contest made a profound impact on my young psyche - enough so that I never stopped writing. I write songs, poems and greeting card verse as well as short stories and articles. Last but certainly not least (drumroll please!), my historical romance, Goldeneyes, was released in March 2008 through Vintage Romance Publishing. Also, The Wild Rose Press is reprinting in electronic format a book I had in print in 2006 under the title Almost Like a Song. Same story, different cover and new title. I do not yet have a release date for Yesterday's Promise, but it's "coming soon." And since an author can never be working on just one project, well ... my elusive muse dropped by a while back and actually stayed long enough to breathe something magical into my ear. As a result, I started what could turn out to be a sequelY'all gotta have something to look forward to!

Thank you to all who visited the guestbook and left comments! I so enjoyed hearing from you. But ... now that spammers have found me, I've elected to delete that page. It's unfortunate that I have to close the doors to all in order to close them to unwelcome and sometimes suggestive ads, but that's the only fix I can think of. I offer my most sincere apologies to those of you who found ads and such in your e-mail because you were signed up to see comments that were left after yours. I'm embarrassed. I hope you'll all understand that I had nothing to do with the sudden influx of unwelcome spam.   If you have comments, you can always reach me at delia@delialatham.net.
